ls Beispiel-Font-Paket nehme ich das Freefont-Paket von ftp:///ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/freefonts-0.10.tar.gz. Die Installation ist einfach:

Installation des Freefont-Pakets

Hitachi:/home/iblech/tLipps # cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts
Hitachi:/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts # wget ftp:///ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/freefonts-0.10.tar.gz
Hitachi:/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts # tar xvzf freefonts-0.10.tar.gz
[ viele Dateien... ]
Hitachi:/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts # xset fp+ /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/freefont
Hitachi:/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts # xset fp

Fertig. Nicht einmal ein Neustart des X-Servers ist von nöten. Sie können mittels xfontsel sehen, welche neuen Fonts dazugekommen sind.
